DBE’s Most Improved Player of 2017, Colin Wagstaff was recently taken by surprise when he learnt he had been nominated for a Sports Award.
Colin wrote to Mo Monkton saying: ‘Hello Mo, This is the article from the Melton Times about their Sports awards for 2017. The awards night is on Thursday 8th February. I am totally overwhelmed, honoured and surprised to be nominated for this award. Since joining Disability Bowls England, this last year has been the best year ever bowls wise. With help and encouragement from the members of DBE, my bowls clubs Whissendine Outdoor Bowls Club & Melton Mowbray Indoor Bowls Club I have managed to achieve more than I ever dreamed I could. So to be nominated for this award just tops off a great year.’
This fantastic news for Colin and everyone from DBE wish him the very best of luck for another trophy to add to those he has already won this year.
