The English Indoor Bowling Association and Disability Bowls England expand their Partnership
The English Indoor Bowling Association (EIBA) and Disability Bowls England (DBE), who have for several years worked together to develop the sport of Indoor Bowls at grassroots level, are pleased to announce an expansion of their partnership to include competitive bowls.
During the EIBA’s 2021-2022 Winter National Finals at Nottingham IBC in April 2022 the finals of the DBE Classified and Unclassified Pairs & Triples along with the annual North v South Challenge Shield will take place. The full schedule of the National Championships will be published shortly.
Both the EIBA and DBE see this as a great step forward for both organisations as they ensure bowls becomes fully inclusive at all levels whilst being an excellent showcase that bowls is a sport for all.
I hope like me you are looking forward to supporting the “Bowls England Big Bowls Weekend” from 28th – 31st May.
Here is how you find out which clubs are holding Open Days during the weekend in your area and I hope you will all be able to visit a few clubs to support them and showcase DBE that Bowls is a sport for all
In the meantime, I ask that you log onto the Bowls England Web site and click www.bowlsengland.com/bowls-big-weekend-club-guidance/ Then do a search for Bowls Clubs within a 10 mile radius of your home address to establish who is taking part in the Big Bowls Weekend.
Make a list of which clubs to support and click on them to find contact details, so you contact them and offer your services on the day, maybe not choose your own club, choose others in your area, and take along a few membership forms which can be found on our web site and have in your back pocket if people wish to join the DBE or direct them to our web site for further information.
Once you have decided which clubs to visit, please send a quick email list of clubs you will be supporting to firstname.lastname@example.org and share your fun photos from the weekend on our Facebook page
Enjoy the weekend it’s going to be great fun!
