One minute you are on top of the world and about to enjoy life again in a new house (apart from shower from a hosepipe) and making new friends. then next your knocked back down to earth with a bang and spend hours and hours rebuilding bridges for the game of bowls you love for the good of the bowls family.

The third sunny bank holiday weekend in May was a shining example of the bowls community across England coming together for the Bowls
England “Bowls Big Weekend” with over 750 events .Once again I experienced the highs. Going to the Isle of Wight and meeting the fabulous Sporting Opportunities bowls club and spending the day laughing, coaching and having fun on the indoor green with a great
bunch of people and then the lows at lunch time asking what’s behind the green door, only to told it’s the outdoor club which we haven’t be able use yet this summer!!!

The great news that “One Team England” bowls squad” will be attending the World Bowls Championships 2023 and making history in the inaugural combined event was the icing on the cake and continues our legacy from an outstanding achievement by all in 2022′

Then another low having to postpone a number of competitions as we didn’t have enough entries- that quickly became a high when we found out they were playing for their clubs or county. which is the ultimate aim for all clubs and counties to be totally inclusive.
The summer season is in full swing and good luck to everyone still in competitions and enjoying our great game, I hope to see many of year at the Bowls England National Championships in August.
