The disability package scheme is a part of the Bowls Development Alliance’s strategic plan 2013-2017, aimed at increasing participation in disabled members from the age of 16+. Over the last two years, we’ve seen groups set up all over the country to support this project, form joint Boccia/Bowls sessions at Newark IBC, the Parkinson’s support group at Langney IBC and Elatus Sports in Suffolk delivering New Age Bowls across their multi sports clubs.
These packages are in place to not only support financially but to raise awareness and increase opportunities for individuals, groups and organisations to get involved with the sport of Bowls.
Marketing support is provided by the Bowls Development Alliance, to assist with promotion of upcoming events, these materials are sent directly to clubs upon approval of package applications.

Through the Bowls Development Alliance’s package scheme, with thanks to the hard work of clubs, coaches and volunteers, over 930 disabled participants over the age of 16 are now regularly participating in the sport. We hope that with further engagement and support, this total will grow throughout Disability Bowls August.
