It’s always a great feeling when your work is appreciated to see a plan come together, after the past 12 months travelling around England with our Taster and Disability awareness days ends of a massive high with our final event of 10 at York & District IBC & New Earswick IBC with our biggest turnout of over 50 DBE members over the 2 day event, showcasing our skills on and off the green was totally amazing and just shows how far disability bowls has come since the return after the pandemic. Team England Learning Disabilities Squad

Happy New Year and what a way to start 2023 with a Big Bang announcement.

We are very pleased to announce the Team England Learning Disabilities Squad to take part in the Learning Disabilities Indoor Bowls International Series (LDIBIS) at York IBC 25-27 April for the Munro Cup 2023, against Bowls Scotland & Bowls Wales.

Once again Disability Bowls England Charity Trust will be fully supporting “Team England” and we have set up a crowdfunding page www.crowdfunder.co.uk and hope you will help us raise enough funds to send a team of 14 players and support staff to cover travel, accommodation, and food cost plus help provide specialist coaching and training for support staff.

Recruitment for Team Manager

Following a full review of the DBE Performance and Player Pathway procedures 2022, it has been agreed that the a main role involving the Team Manager will be re-advertised and a management team in place for the start of 2023.

DBE will consider applications from existing and new candidates received before 31st January 2023 with interviews scheduled for the week commencing 6th February.

HIGH PERFORMANCE REVIEW 2022 summary

Following a request by the DBE Charity Trust Board a working group was set up to review all matters related to the DBE HP Squads and make recommendations to ensure transparency, good practice and produce squads fit for purpose. The group reviewed all procedures, and the findings are detailed below.

The Trustees of Disability Bowls England like to thank the High Performance working group
for a full review of our HP system and fully support all the recommendations made and will
update our procedures before 31 Dec 2022.
